Mai Musubi, located in Kakaʻako, just started offering Japanese curry. The Japanese-style curry is available for both dine-in and takeout.
The biz is known for its musubi, with varieties like Spam tamago ($3.50), karaage mayo ($3.50), salmon mentaiko ($3.75) and spicy tuna mayo ($3.50). Mai Musubi’s Japanese curry is made fresh daily and is available from 11 a.m.

Choose from tonkatsu ($16), karaage chicken ($16), shrimp katsu ($16), potato croquette ($13.50), crab cream croquette ($13.50) or tofu nugget curry ($13.50). The tonkatsu and shrimp katsu are expected to be customer favorites.
Curry plates include the curry, entrée and a bed of Kubota rice, which is freshly milled in Hawaiʻi from Japan. Plates are always made to order; Mai Musubi’s curry features a slight spice.
There’s a small dining room where customers can enjoy their bentos or curry.
Keep an eye out for featured specials. The karaage chicken curry and potato croquette curry were recently both 20% off.

The business also recently added refreshing sodas and floats to its menu. Choose from soda flavors like yuzu, lychee, melon, white peach, green apple and grape.
Customers can opt for soda floats by adding ice cream for an additional charge ($1.50).
Mai Musubi has extended its hours on the weekends. Right now, the shop is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 6 p.m. on Sundays. It’s still open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays.
