The Cliffs at Princeville has been voted No. 1 on the list of Best Eco-friendly Hotels while Kōloa Landing Resort at Po‘ipū, Autograph Collection takes the top spot on the list of Best Family Resorts in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards.
The awards aim to rank the 10 best in several areas of travel, lifestyle and other categories.
Located on 22 acres on Kaua‘i‘'s North Shore, The Cliffs at Princeville won recognition for its sustainability achievements, the list notes.
"Renewable energy powers the resort by more than 65%, LED lights are in use, over 20% of waste generated on the property is recycled, and their water conservation program supports reusable containers over bottled water," it reads. "Holistic wellness experiences in partnership with Akamu Wellness include ocean front Thai Lomi massage and yoga teacher training."
Meanwhile, Kōloa Landing Resort at Po‘ipū, "emerges as a family paradise with its vast array of amenities and activities that cater to every family member's needs," according to that list. In addition to multi-bedroom villas, the resort features three pools, including a 350,000 gallon main pool and a 6,100-square-foot lagoon pool, as well as a putting green volleyball court, poolside dining and more, it notes.
Kōloa Landing Resort at Po‘ipū also ranked No. 2 on the 10Best list of Best Hotel Pools along with Sheraton Waikīkī Beach Resort at No. 7 and Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa at No. 9. It was also recently named No. 1 on the 10Best list of Best Resorts in Hawai‘i.
The results of other Readers' Choice Awards have also recently been announced.
Best Hotel Restaurant: Mugen at ESPACIO, No. 6
Best Hotel Bar: Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian, No. 6
Best Waterfront Hotel or Resort: The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikīkī No. 7
Best Destination Resort: Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, No. 10
