Oakberry Hawaiʻi is opening its newest location at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Waiānuenue at Kapaʻakea in Mōʻiliʻili. To celebrate its grand opening, the business will giving away free acai bowls for the first 100 customers; customers can enjoy 50% off bowls for the rest of the day.
The free 12-ounce Oakberry acai bowl will feature double granola layers, strawberries and bananas. Individuals who stop by the store’s grand opening will also have the chance to win acai for a year; the winner will receive 52 Oakberry vouchers (available for weekly redemption).
New menu items include choc hazelnut and pistachio bowls, along with smoothie options like the grind (banana, peanut butter, whey protein, coffee and oat milk) and purple fuel (Oakberry acai, whey protein and banana).
“We’re excited to open our doors at Waiānuenue and become part of the Mōʻiliʻili community,” states Bonny Amemiya, COO of Acai Partners Hawaiʻi. “This neighborhood brings together longtime residents, students, families and people from across Honolulu. We wanted our grand opening to be a celebration that gives everyone a chance to come by, try Oakberry and experience this new gathering place.”
Oakberry Hawaiʻi’s new store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow. This new store is Oakberry’s fourth Hawaiʻi location — its third opening this year — and is the first business to open at Waiānuenue at Kapaʻakea in Mōʻiliʻili. The shopping district — whose name pays homage to the “shimmering rainbows that grace Mānoa’s skies” — recently finished its renovations and will feature a mix of shops, gathering spaces and restaurants.
“This area is supposed to be lively; we want to help bring good energy to this (Waiānuenue),” Amemiya says.
Starting Sunday, Sept. 27, University of Hawaiʻi students can enjoy a 10% discount on in-store purchases at the business’s Waiānuenue location. A valid UH student ID is required to get the discount.
After grand opening day, this store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.
