Courtyard by Marriott Waikīkī Beach has recently unveiled a comprehensive, multi-million dollar renovation.
Throughout the 405-room property, located on Royal Hawaiian Avenue, you'll find updated guest rooms and public spaces, new spots to grab a bite and other upgrades.
This revamp, according to a recent announcement, includes:
- Redesigned and refreshed guest rooms and suites with new furnishings, reconfigured layouts and a "palette of bold blues, warm tones, natural textures and ocean‑inspired details reflect the surrounding landscape and the storied history of Waikīkī."
- A complete renovation of the hotel's 850-square penthouse, located on the 18th floor of the Ola Tower, which includes all-new guest rooms, designer furnishes and finishes, an executive kitchen, bathroom and a wrap-around outdoor terrace.
- The hotel's three towers, now called Kalo, Mo‘i and Ola, were named by cultural practitioner Ku'uipo Kumukahi of the Hawaiian Music Perpetuation Society. The names "reflect honorable core elements of Hawaiian culture and storytelling," Marriott says.
- Communal spaces include an indoor-outdoor lobby, a pool and patio that features fire elements and flexible seating; a nine-hole mini golf course; upgraded fitness center; Spa Pure Waikīkī; refreshed meeting spaces and a saltwater pool in the Mo‘i tower.
- Hungry? You've got options, including two concepts from ZETTON Inc.: Aloha Amigo, the hotel's signature restaurant, a cantina where "island influence meets bold Mexican flavors," and Peppermint Café & Pool Bar, a poolside option offering "light bites and exotic cocktails infused with island ingredients." You'll also find Ali‘i Coffee Co. and grab-and-go concept, CRATE.
The hotel was originally built in 1969 and last renovated in December 2015, the property team told Aloha State Daily in an email. The renovations for the public spaces began on Aug. 15, 2025, while the renovations for the accommodations started nearly a year earlier, on Oct. 5, 2024.
"This transformation was a natural next step for the hotel, allowing the property to align with the expectations of today’s traveler, whether visiting for business, leisure, or a blend of both," General Manager Paul Garcia said in a statement provided to ASD. "By reimagining its accommodations, on-site spaces and experiences, Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach has created a more flexible, lifestyle-driven environment that reflects the energy of Waikīkī while supporting how guests travel today."
The team said it could not disclose financial information or specific numbers when asked about the total costs of the renovations.
