My Favorite Local Saying: 'No shame, take the last malasada.'

Not quite sure when I first heard my favorite local expression: "No shame." But I’ve been hearing it since I was a keiki.

I think it’s a great reminder to be proud of who you are and where you come from, as well as to not be afraid to ask for help. It’s also a good piece of advice to give others when there’s food around. “No shame, take the last malasada.”

For me, no shame also applies to my job. I take a lot of pride in my work, as well as my co-workers. No shame when asking the tough questions!
